Kellie-Jay Keen is a British women’s rights campaigner, founder of Let Women Speak, and leader of the Party of Women. She is internationally recognised for her unapologetic defence of sex-based rights and her insistence that the category of “woman” is grounded in biological reality.
In 2018, she erected a billboard displaying the dictionary definition of the word “woman” – “adult, human, female”. This simple statement became a globally recognised rallying cry for women’s rights.
Later, she became the first person interviewed by police over tweets supporting the rights of women and children, sparking national debate about free speech and lawful expression in the UK.
Her activism has repeatedly made international headlines. She went viral worldwide after shouting “He’s a man” at the NCAA swimming championships during controversy over male participation in women’s sport. Another phrase associated with her, “I’m not a vet, but I know what a dog is”, became a widely quoted cultural reference in debates about sex and language.
In March 2023, at a Let Women Speak event in Auckland, New Zealand, Keen was forced from the stage when confronted by a hostile crowd of protesters. The incident drew global media attention and intensified discussion about women’s freedom of assembly and speech.
Keen states she has faced extensive censorship and deplatforming, including social media bans, demonetisation, and financial exclusion.
What began with a step ladder at Speakers’ Corner grew into rallies across the UK, United States, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Through her activism, Kellie-Jay Keen has become one of the most prominent and controversial figures in the international women’s rights movement. She is founder of Standing For Women limited and CEO and founder of Adulthumanfemale.store limited.
Join us for an evening of conversation and debate, followed by a social.
