THE FREE SPEECH UNION ROADSHOW: BELFAST

WEDNESDAY 27th MAY 2026, 7.30pm

Throughout 2026, the Free Speech Union is undertaking a UK tour, with the entire staff going ‘on the road’ to meet members, supporters and the general public who are curious and concerned about free speech issues. From hate crime to cancel culture, online safety to jury trial, academic freedom to workplace discrimination, there is much to discuss. These regional roadshows will raise awareness of the threats to free speech and democratic values while showcasing the breadth of the FSU’s response.

FSU staff members will explain our casework, our legal priorities and parliamentary campaigning in a series of large public forums, providing a vital opportunity to canvas opinions and discuss issues and opportunities specific to the nations and regions. As with all FSU events, there will be time for socialising too — come and meet like-minded people with shared concerns but diverse opinions.

7pm doors open.
7.30pm to 9pm speeches and Q and A.
9pm to 10pm social.
